Herbert “Herb” Kuhr 92, of Palm Coast Florida, sadly left us unexpectedly. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at 5:15 PM in West Palm Beach on March 8, 2024. Herb is survived by his children; daughter Rosemarie, son Robert (and his wife Laura), son Harald aka Harry (and his Partner Paul); a grandson and two granddaughters and 7 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to his memorial honoring his military service. The service is planned for June 22, 2024 in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Herbert, born June 21, 1931 in Wetzlar Germany, son of Wilhelm and Elisabeth, immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 and in 1952 enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving in Korea and obtained his citizenship in 1954. Herb married in 1956 to Marianne Lutz whom he shared 62 years with. Herbert served his community as a Police Officer in the Village of Floral Park, Long Island for 26 years. After raising their three children, Herb and Marianne retired to Florida in 1993. Herb enjoyed spending his time gardening and landscaping around the house and just recently completed another garden project. He was a long standing member of the PTL Cardillo Lodge #171 along with his lifelong friend Nick of 57 years. In recent years he enjoyed afternoon drives around town, shopping and his favorite ritual of going to a locals restaurant, Friends, in Flagler Beach followed by a trip to the beach to visit Marianne. He was well known around town and has left an impression on many around him. In recent months he spoke about downsizing and moving to West Palm Beach, in with his son, Harry and son-in-law Paul.
